An exciting new opportunity has opened at terravesta. If you’re a good communicator, calm under pressure, and want to have an integral role in the supply chain of UK miscanthus production, then this is the job for you.

A logistics officer is a key cog in the Terravesta wheel, managing the link between growers, hauliers and the end markets, and we’re looking for an experienced, organised, friendly individual to take on the role, offering a competitive remuneration package to the right candidate.

Role Description:

Terravesta manages the supply chain for sustainable energy crop, miscanthus, so the main role of a logistics officer is managing the vital link between our growers, hauliers & end markets.

The role would be to organise the collection and delivery of bales from farm into markets such as renewable energy plants and other processing facilities.

Required attributes:

We require a friendly candidate who is a good communicator, calm under pressure, a problem solver, and a team player.

Desired skills:

  • IT literate
  • Effective communicator both verbally & written
  • Willing to learn and take on new challenges
  • Experience of online based CRM systems
  • Experience of dealing with clients
  • Any involvement with logistics would be advantageous but not essential

Day to day tasks:

  • Using online CRM system to manage collections / deliveries
  • Create collection plans
  • Telephone growers and hauliers to book in bale collections
  • Manage requirements of end users, power stations, processing facilities
  • Working to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly delivery schedules
  • Create reports to track and report deliveries
  • Recording collection data onto online system
  • Liaise with accounts department to assist with creating accurate grower payments and haulage costs
  • Other tasks as are required within the operations team

The job:

The position would be starting a part time basis, with the potential of moving to full time within 6 months.

Salary and package:

£20,000 pro rata, telephone & computer / laptop
