New Farm Walk Dates Announced

We’re pleased to be announcing our next three farm walks, and hope you’ll be able to join us to learn more about both the value, and future, of growing miscanthus.

The next walk is on 18 June and will be held at Netherdyke Farm, Glapthorn, Oundle, PE8 5BJ, by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Wilkinson.

This will be followed on 25 June by a visit to Lower Marsh Farm, Kingston St Mary, Taunton, Somerset TA2 8AB, by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Gothard and Miscanthus Nursery.

Our third walk will be on 2 July at Whinneymoor Farm, Whinmoor Lane, Brough, East Yorkshire HU15 1RA, by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Bradley.

Please put the date in your diary now, as we’re expecting a lot of interest in these exciting events.

Each day will follow the same programme:

1030 Arrival and coffee;

1045 The market for miscanthus – what it is, what the benefits are, and how Terravesta works to make the most of the crop;

1130 A farm walk with your host:

This gives you an opportunity to question your host and the team from Terravesta, see the crop, discuss the establishment and growing techniques, and evaluate how miscanthus will fit into your farm rotation;

1300 Return to the farm offices for a light lunch;

1330 A summary of the day and a chance to hear more details about the Terravesta offer.

Guests usually leave around 1400, but are welcome to remain to ask further questions, or discuss growing options.

Who should join us?

Anyone looking for change? Miscanthus offers a great opportunity for farmers looking for an alternative crop in today’s challenging marketplace. Anyone considering an alternative to their current rotation, or looking to maximise returns from marginal land, should come along and see how working with us will help to improve returns.

Farmers fighting blackgrass resistance, looking for a guaranteed income, wanting better returns from marginal hectares, or looking for an easy-to-manage crop, should consider this opportunity.

We’ll also welcome land agents, agricultural bank managers, advisors and consultants – in fact, anyone who influences the buying decision.

These days offer a unique insight into the growing and management of the crop, and an opportunity to gain first-hand experience from existing growers.

To help us with our catering arrangements, please book in advance by going to our website, www.terravesta.com, or by contacting Helen Holman on 07779 246397. Alternatively email Helen on helenh@terravesta.com. We hope to see you there
