CLA breakfast success

We co-hosted the first CLA breakfast at the Lincolnshire show and the feedback was fantastic.

And to top it all, we were over the moon to have William Cracroft-Eley, Terravesta chairman, presenting at the event.

The theme was maximising returns from marginal land. William spoke to an engaged audience of farmers and landowners in the eastern counties about the suitability of miscanthus on poor grade, marginal land, and the expanding market for the crop.

Currently grown on over 8,000 hectares of marginal land across the UK, miscanthus is proving to be a popular choice for those wanting to add to their income with minimal crop inputs.

Terravesta works with miscanthus growers across the UK, offering complete grow and buy back contracts, to produce and process sustainable fuel for power generation.

And growers in the eastern counties have the opportunity to supply a Lincolnshire renewable energy power station, eco2, with whole bales.

“A profitable, low-maintenance crop that’s both reliable and sustainable, miscanthus can deliver yields of 15 tonnes per hectare once established,” says William. “In light of continually volatile cereal prices” more and more growers are showing interest in working with us.”
